Capital Credits

Attention former KV REMC members from 1972 to 1980: You may have unclaimed capital credits waiting for you! As a non-profit, any margins earned over and above its expenses, maintenance or capital improvements are returned to the member-consumers of the cooperative during the retirement years.  These credits were returned as bill credits and checks to current and former members.  Unfortunately, numerous checks of past members were undeliverable, prompting us to actively seek past members who are owed capital credits.

Our board of directors chose to retire over $1.7 million in capital credits for those who were members during the specified years. The amount owed to you is determined by your electricity usage during that period, reflecting our commitment to responsible fiscal management. This unique system allows member-consumers to directly benefit from our power supplier’s dedication to financial prudence.

If you suspect you are owed capital credits and didn’t receive a check, your undelivered check might be with us. Use the search function below to input your name and discover if you are a past member entitled to capital credits.
