Kankakee Valley REMC's eighth annual "Pack-a-Backpack" drive is going on now until July 21.
As part of KV REMC's focus on community, we can't overlook the opportunity to help students whose families might be struggling with the start-of-the-year school supply purchases. Last year over 150 backpacks filled with school supplies were donated to area elementary and middle schools. This year we want to do even more.
To do this, we need your support in donating school supplies and backpacks. These items will be delivered to school administrators before the start of the school year to hand out to children in need. Supplies being collected include erasers, highlighters, pocket folders, backpacks, Crayons, colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, to name a few. Download a complete supply list here.
Kankakee Valley REMC encourages the community to consider picking up extra school supplies for those less fortunate. Supplies can be dropped off at the Kankakee Valley REMC headquarters in Wanatah. A collection box is in the lobby from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Supplies will be accepted until July 21.
