General Information for an Underground CT Cabinet Service

  • A CT cabinet is required on all services above 320 amps and 4-wire services over 200 amps (except when the pad mount is metered).
  • Meter Socket shall be mounted 5' above the finished grade.
  • CT cabinet shall be mounted so that the bottom is 2' above the finished grade.
  • Service is to be member-owned, meaning the member is to install service wire from the CT cabinet to the base of the pole, leaving approximately 40' at the base for KV REMC to connect at the pole top.

General Information for Underground Services

  • Minimum size underground service is 200 Amp
  • The member must supply 3" gray schedule 400 conduit if the service will be crossing a driveway.
  • A means of disconnect must be within 10' of the meter base.
  • Member wires connect to the bottom lugs, KV REMC wires connect to the top lugs.
  • Only KV REMC service wires & member load wires are allowed in the meter socket.

  • Member must supply 3" gray schedule 40 conduit if the service will be crossing a driveway.

KV REMC Engineer must approve the meter location prior to installation. 

  • Minimum size underground service is 200 amp.
  • The member must supply 3" gray schedule 40 conduit if the service will be crossing a driveway.
  • A means of disconnect must be within 10' of the meter base.
  • Member wires connect to the bottom lugs, KV REMC wires connect to the top lugs.
