Interested in a Future Career With A Trade After High School? 

Juniors and Seniors in high school interested in joining the trades after graduation are invited to attend Kankakee Valley REMC Trades Camp.

This one-day event will include professionals from the following trades: electricians, carpenters, pipefitters, plumbers, operators, sprinkler fitters, fiber technicians, laborers, and journeyman linemen.

What Will the Camp Include?

The event will occur at the Kankakee Valley REMC headquarters in Wanatah on March 10, 2026.  Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. with the event starting at 8:15 a.m. CT. Lunch will be provided.  The event concludes at 2:30 p.m. CT.  Please use Communty Room entrance on the east side of the building upon arrival.

The morning will provide attendees with an overview of each trade, a look at a day in the life, and steps students can take now to prepare to enter the workforce.

The afternoon sessions will include hands-on activities led by trades professionals.
