RATE SCHEDULE SPTOU
SEASONAL POWER TIME-OF-USE SERVICE
The Kankakee Valley Membership Corporation (REMC) shall charge and collect for seasonal time-of-use service on the bases of availability, application, character of service, monthly rate, definitions, determination of supplemental and standby service, specified capacity, and special provisions.
AVAILABILITY:
This schedule is available to any member requiring seasonal service of not less than twenty-five (25) KVA of installed transformer capacity.
CHARACTER OF SERVICE:
Service under this schedule shall be single phase or three phase, 60 Hertz, alternating current at standard available voltages. Resale service is not permitted under this rate schedule.
LIMITATION OF SERVICE:
Service under this schedule is permitted only for customers whose generating equipment is used only for emergency purposes.

Power Cost Adjustment:
The amount computed at the above monthly rate shall be adjusted plus or minus by an amount calculated in accordance with the formula specified in the Kankakee Valley Rural Electric Membership Corporation’s Purchased Power Cost Adjustment Clause (Appendix A) which is a part of the “Monthly Rate” of this rate schedule.
Time of Use Rating Periods:
- On-Peak Periods: The designated on-peak periods expressed in terms of Eastern Standard Time shall be as follows:
- For the calendar months of January through December:
Monday through Friday* 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
*The following general holidays shall be excluded from the on-peak periods: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas.
- Off-Peak Periods: The designated off-peak periods shall be all hours other than the designated on-peak hours set forth above.
Power Factor Adjustment:
The member agrees to maintain unity power factor as nearly as practical. The REMC reserves the right to measure power factor at any time. Should such measurements indicate that the power factor is less than ninety percent (90%), the demand for billing purposes will be adjusted for average monthly lagging power factor by multiplying the demand as indicated or recorded on the demand meter by ninety percent (90%) and divided by the percent power factor.
Minimum Charge:
The minimum Monthly charge shall be the “facilities charge”.
Tax Adjustment:
The amount computed at the above monthly rate shall be subject to taxes, assessments, and surcharges imposed by any governmental authority.
Billing Demand:
The highest measured fifteen (15)-minute interval kW demand during the month.
On-Peak Billing Demand:
The highest measured fifteen (15)-minute interval kW demand during the on-peak hours in the month.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:
- Service shall be provided in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Kankakee Valley Rural Electric Membership Corporation’s Service Policies and Bylaws.
- The terms of payment shall be in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Kankakee Valley Rural Electric Membership Corporation’s Service Policies and Bylaws.
- The member may be required to enter into a written agreement stating the character of load, minimum contract period, minimum monthly charge, and other charges, if any.
- At the request of the member, the REMC will allow transfers from Rate Schedule SPTOU to Rate Schedule SP for a period of not less than 12 months.
