CHARACTER OF SERVICE:

Service under this schedule shall be three phase, 60 Hertz, alternating current at the REMC’s available standard voltages or other voltages as may be mutually agreed upon. All service required on the premises by the customer will be supplied through one meter. Standby or resale service is not permitted hereunder.

The billing demand for any month shall be the maximum kilowatt demand established by the member for any period of fifteen (15) consecutive minutes during the month for which the bill is rendered. The demand shall be as indicated or recorded by suitable recording instruments provided by the REMC and adjusted for power factor as provided below.

Time of Use Rating Periods:

  • On-Peak Periods: The designated on-peak periods expressed in terms of Eastern Standard Time shall be as follows:

The amount computed at the above monthly rate as adjusted by the application of the rate adjustment clauses shall be subject to taxes, assessments, and surcharges imposed by any governmental authority.

Power Factor:

The member agrees to maintain unity power factor as nearly as practical. The REMC reserves the right to measure such power factor at any time. Should such measurements indicated that the power factor is less than ninety percent (90%), then the demand for billing purposes will be adjusted for average monthly lagging power factor by multiplying the demand as indicated or recorded on the demand meter by ninety percent (90%) and divided by the percent power factor.

Minimum Monthly Charge:

The minimum monthly charge shall be the “facilities charge”.

Primary Metering Discount:

If the electric energy is provided at the primary supply line voltage of 12,470 volts, a credit of $0.25 per KW of billing demand will be applied where the customer owns, operates and maintains all facilities, including transformation equipment, beyond the primary metering point.
